Concorde Flight to Iceland

I hope this short film gives you some experience of sights and sounds from inside the cabin of Concorde. It was sad to see AA lifeless in the Museum but I am please to see that it is housed with tender loving care. If you listen carefully, you will hear
the roar of the take-off, the increased wind noise as the landing gear is extended, the reflection of the noise from the tarmac as we came in to land. You'll notice in the cockpit that our First Officer was Barbara Harmer, the first and only woman Concorde pilot. Apologies for the vertical banding in the cockpit shot. This seems to be the feature of the mp4 compression. In the cockpit, you may notice that the airspeed was 386kts, the height was 31,400ft, the Mach meter was reading 1.01 -- so the video of the flight deck was as we were passing through the speed of sound! I'll upload some clips without backing music so that it is easier to hear the cabin sounds.

My friend safely caught a live Solfugid in Iraq on duty one night, he managed to string it down with strands from 550 cord, and then look at it closely, we also have hi-res pictures. These are not venomous, they are harmless however have very powerful jaws. After the Video the little jaws with legs was let go, and not fed to a lizard.
Solfugids or Windscorpion, are not technically spiders but belong to an order of arachnids known for their speed and their large, forward-pointing chelicerae, or biting fangs. They live in tropical or subtropical dry areas of the Americas, Asia, and Africa. Worldwide, there are about 900 known species of windscorpions, and in North America there are 120. They were the subject of the urban legend going around about soldiers in Iraq being chased and eaten by large spiders.

Helping Injured Hummingbird Drink From a Flower

I am a wildlife rehabilitator. This is a (presumed) juvenile male ruby throated hummingbird that came in for wildlife rehabilitation with an injured wing. Here I am checking how alert he is and if he will drink from the flowers that the hummingbirds in my garden frequent. He seemed to enjoy it, but the bulk of his diet is a specially formulated nectar. Hummingbirds cannot survive in captivity on the plain sugar water they receive in our feeders (but they do need nectar.) They also need the insects they eat in the wild. Showing this bird a flower was a rare event and he was returned immediately afterwards to a calm, quiet indoor cage with plenty of his specially formulated nectar available.

This is part of a video I submitted for a new TV show call "Who Wants To Be A Superhero" I'm now turning it into a comic book.

Dark Spider's Origin:

On a trip to the Amazon Jungle in Brazil, Magaly got bitten by a rare six-legged spider. While dying in the jungle she was found by a tribe and taken to their village, the village Shaman (Medicine Man) gave her a potion to try an save her life. Unknown to her and the indians she was a decendant of the tribe and specially a decendant of their queen that was taken from them over 100 years ago. The potion, combine with a special gene that only the queens carry and the poison from the spider transform her into...Dark Spider.

She return to NYC to use her powers and fight crime. She's a Capoeira expert and her favorite weapons are blades. She has a collection of diferent Gauntlets that she uses according to how much damage she wants to do. She can also control spiders with her mind and has the ability to see and hear what the spider sees and hears, making them very useful little spies. If the spider is poisonous, she can also use them as weapons.

Ultimate RC jet crash !

this is the first flight of my friend Alan's turbine jet powered Gripen RC jet. The plane ended slaming into the woods after elevon servos fell out in flight ... this is the most spectacular RC crash i have ever seen in person !

WebGem: Plane Crash at Baseball Game, Alaska Goldpanners

This is the famous "Plane Crash Game" -- as seen on ESPN, FOX Sports (etc.), and vidclip websites around the Internet. Over a million views on YouTube alone... which is amazing, considering that nobody died. Just think of how many hits there would be if one or two people had been freakishly injured or snuffed!

The Cameraman and Producer is Todd Dennis; Gero von Dehn makes the "Crazy Landing" call. Gero is now lead singer for the Pittsburgh, PA metal group "Von Dane"

The good news (I guess.. don't know if I want this guy flying again) is that all four people on board survived. The unbelievable news is that the pilot's daughter was playing soccer on the field in the background when it happened, and rushed to his father's aid!!

Rafflesia Biggest Flower In The World

Seeing the biggest flower in the world. We were glad that is a blooming one.




Rafflesia is a genus of parasitic flowering plants. It was discovered in the Indonesian rain forest by an Indonesian guide working for Dr. Joseph Arnold in 1818, and named after Sir Thomas Stamford Raffles, the leader of the expedition. It contains 15-19 species (including four incompletely characterized species as recognized by Meijer 1997), all found in southeastern Asia, on the Malay Peninsula, Borneo, Sumatra and Kalimantan, West Malaysia, and the Philippines. The plant has no stems, leaves or true roots. It is an endoparasite of vines in the genus Tetrastigma (Vitaceae), spreading its root-like haustoria inside the tissue of the vine. The only part of the plant that can be seen outside the host vine is the five-petaled flower. In some species, such as Rafflesia arnoldii, the flower may be over 100 cm in diameter, and weigh up to 10 kg. Even the smallest species, R. manillana, has 20 cm diameter flowers. The flowers look and smell like rotting meat, hence its local names which translate to "corpse flower" or "meat flower" (but see below). The vile smell that the flower gives off attracts insects such as carrion flies, which transport pollen from male to female flowers. Little is known about seed dispersal, however, tree shrews and other forest mammals apparently eat the fruits and disperse the seeds. Rafflesia is an official state flower of Sabah in Malaysia, as well as for the Surat Thani Province, Thailand.

Time-Lapse Blooming of Pincushion Cactus

This time-lapse sequence took three weeks to photograph and 1100 photos. Of course I didn't have to click the camera for every photo - I built an electronic gadget that took the photos automatically, once every 15 minutes.




A cactus (plural cacti, cactuses or cactus) is any member of the succulent plant family Cactaceae, native to the Americas. They are often used as ornamental plants, but some are also crop plants.

Cacti are distinctive and unusual plants, which are adapted to extremely arid and hot environments, showing a wide range of anatomical and physiological features which conserve water. Their stems have expanded into green succulent structures containing the chlorophyll necessary for life and growth, while the leaves have become the spines for which cacti are so well known.
